Collection Process

The collection process depends on the cord blood bank that you choose to save your child's cord blood.  Whether your cord blood bank is a Member bank or a Non-Member bank, AuxoCell is able to save your child’s cells.

Member Banks:
If your cord blood bank is a member bank and has selected to process your child's Wharton's Jelly Stem Cells in their own facility following AuxoCell's propriety processing protocols, then the process works exactly the same way as the cord blood bank’s. AuxoCell will send a collection kit directly to your home and you will bring this with you to the hospital. Once the cord blood and Wharton's Jelly is collected and packaged the same courier will collect the two boxes and rush deliver them to the cord blood bank's laboratory to process and store. Details of the cord blood bank's program will be found in your Wharton's Jelly collection kit. These details differ from cord blood bank to cord blood bank.   Essentially you will follow the instructions provided by the cord blood bank and the same courier will collect your child's specimen.

Non-Member Banks:
Not all cord blood banks are AuxoCell member banks. If your cord blood bank is not an AuxoCell member bank then, you can still save your child's Wharton's Jelly Stem Cells with AuxoCell. AuxoCell will send a collection kit directly to you to bring to the hospital. Once the child is delivered and the Wharton's Jelly Stem Cells are collected, you will call the AuxoCell medical Courier and they will pick up your specimen and rush deliver it to the AuxoCell processing laboratory. If you are working with a non-member bank the AuxoCell courier may be different from the cord blood bank's courier. Clear, concise instructions will be provided with your collection kit.
